Project management knowledge node

Managing Projects is about all of the actions required to support the Design Management function, and turn a project into reality. It specifically does not include the design process itself. It has (in this DesignNode model) 12 main functions:

  4. Managing Stakeholders
  5. Managing Scope
  6. Managing Project Information
  7. Construction Cost Planning
  8. Value Management
  9. Managing Project Schedules
  10. Managing Project Documents
  11. Managing Contracts & Bidding
  12. Contract Administration

There is obviously a lot of potential overlap between Project Management and Design Management, but this overlap should be minimized as much as possible. Similarly, there is the opportunity for gaps between the two, and careful management of this interface is critical to successful project completion.
